Addison Woolsey

Addison Woolsey is a California-based clay artist. His work explores the specific ways that ceramics — in its various iterations as sculpture, craft, vessel, folk art — can help us understand what it means to be human, to be alive, and to live with others. His sculptures and vessels are built at varying scales dependent on the constraints of local studio access. Acknowledging and responding to these constraints turns the studio into an ethnographic site, where clay, glaze, form, and firing atmosphere serve as indexes of the cultural and geological context of ceramic production.

Porcelain with shino, dolomite blue glaze and wax resist dot motif.

Approximately 13.5" tall, 19" at widest.

Handmade by Addison Woolsey in California.

Please note that this item is final sale.

No returns or exchanges.

Stoneware with shino and embedded glass from the Los Angeles River.

Approximately 2.5" tall, 13.5" at wide, 9" deep.

Handmade by Addison Woolsey in California.

Please note that this item is final sale.

No returns or exchanges.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0632/8809/files/Spartan_Shop_AddisonWoolseyOpenFormNo.70_1.jpg?v=1757012373
addison-woolsey-spiral-bottle-no-2
Addison Woolsey Spiral Bottle No. 2

Shinohara clay vessel; anagama and electric fired in Shigaraki.

Approximately 9" tall, 9.5" at widest.

Handmade by Addison Woolsey in Japan.

Please note that this piece is part of a current show and will ship the week of 9/20.

This item is final sale.
